The Perfect Team

The gospel lesson this week was Jesus’ visit to the home of Mary, Martha and Lazarus. I have always thought of this family as the perfect small group that could accomplish anything. This visit would be Jesus last stop on his way to Jerusalam. It was possibly the last real safe place before the events of holy week would unfold.

All three of these family members bring something special. When we think of succession planning for our stations it is important to evaluate the skills that are present and those that would be needed in the future.

Mary was full of passion, passion for Jesus and she was unrestrained in demonstrating it. Martha kept a good and orderly household. Ensureing that everything that should be done, was done. And then there was Lazarus. What was his superpower? Lazarus had just been raised from the dead. Can you imagain having someone on your staff that had just been raised form the dead? They would be a powerhouse of motivation.

As you look for staff and volunteers to round out your needs ask the Lord to give you the Marys, the Marthas and the Lazarus’ that you need to fulfill your mandate.

Very soon I will be meeting with a member of the grants committee of MTS and a couple of ITF representives. If you have projects or other financal needs in your station please send me a note this week so that I am aware, and can represent these needs.
